(으)려던 참이다 [Intermediate Grammar]

- (으)려던 참이다

If an incomplete noun '참' is used as '-(으)려던 참이에요' meaning 'an opportunity or a schedule', it indicates that the speaker's action, intention, or thought incidentally coincides with the other party's. It is often used with '그렇지 않아도' Additionally -(으)ㄹ 참이다' and '-던 참이다' are variant forms.

Example: 

1.부모님께는 말하지 않을 참이에요.

     I am not going to talk to my parents.

2. 나도 먹고 싶던 참에 불고기를 먹자니 잘됐네요.
    I am going to eat Bulgogi now, so let's go together.

3. 그렇지 않아도 확인해 보려던 참이었는데 이렇게 대신해 주셔서 감사합니다. 

    I am going to check it anyway, so thank you for doing it for me.

4. 그렇지 않아도 소포를 부치러 우체국에 가려던 참이에요.

    Even if it's not, I'm on my way to the post office to mail a package.

5. 커피를 한잔 마시려던 참이에요.

    I was just about to have a cup of coffee.
